Van Dyke Reunion 2010 - " Coming Home"
The weekend of July 9-11, 2010, Huntingdon Pennsylvania
Huntingdon is a focal point for a lot
of Van Dyke family history. All of Archie and Esther's 15 children
were born in and around this area. They left a beautiful home (still
standing) in the area to move to the rigors of the Nebraska frontier.
Daughter Eleanor married one of the Brumbaugh's who founded Juniata College
in Huntingdon.
Lodging
We have reserved a block of air conditioned rooms in one of the Juniata
College dormitories for those who might wish to stay there. The cost will
be $25 for a single and $30 for a double. Motels and camping will also be
available for those who wish to use them. Specific meeting sites are not
yet firmed up.
Travel by Air
Airfares are low currently. You might want to investigate locking-in a
ticket now. Who knows how high they will be closer to the reunion date.
The Altoona airport is closest at approximately one hour away. The
Pittsburgh airport is about 2 1/2 hours away, but might be cheaper overall.
Check this website periodically for developments as time gets nearer.
