CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES: The Beatrice YMCA will provide childcare and youth activities from the age of six (6) months on up (and possibly from 6 weeks on up).  The youngest children will be in a room adjacent to the reunion rooms so parents can check on them as they wish.  From Pre-K through 6th grade, the children will be at the YMCA.  Activities will include swimming and a variety of age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, music/dance, story time/drama, science, cooking, and indoor as well as outdoor games.  Rates:  Full Day (over 4 hours) - $20.00 for one child, $28.00 for two children; Half Day - $10.00 for one child, $18.00 for two children.  Parents will be responsible for providing lunches and snacks as well as swim attire.  From 7th grade on up, “Day Passes” are available.  Rates:  13 years and younger - $2.50; 14-19 years - $5.00.  High school age youths would have a choice of assisting the YMCA staff with the younger reunion attenders or purchasing a day membership and using the regular YMCA programs or participating in the reunion activities. Please note, however, that negotiations are not complete.  Final plans will depend on how many children will be involved.  The YMCA is enthusiastic about working with us.  It is not the first time they have provided this kind of service for groups so we are very hopeful about the prospects.

We plan to have these activities available Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning and afternoon.  Whether we have childcare activities during the Saturday evening banquet will depend on feedback from you.  Do you want your children to participate in the banquet or do you want alternative activities available for them?  (See the questionnaire.)

Parents can, if you so choose, allow older teens to be on their own to utilize a variety of recreational facilities in Beatrice (water park, county fair, bowling, etc.)  This would, of course, be at your own risk.  And, of course, you may, if you wish, keep your children with you during the reunion.
